Gingerbread  Bundt Cake

This Gingerbread Bundt Cake with Orange Cream Cheese Icing is the perfect festive dessert for the holiday season.  Fill your home with the old fashioned fragrance of Christmas- ginger, cinnamon and cloves.  It's an elegant addition to any holiday table! 

Simple Ingredients

– all purpose flour – baking soda – salt – cinnamon – ginger – cloves – hot water – butter – sugar – egg – molasses Frosting – cream cheese – orange juice – orange zest – vanilla extract – powdered sugar

1. Combine the first 6 dry ingredients in a medium bowl. 2. Cream butter and sugar together until well combined. 3. Add the egg and blend in the molasses. 4. Add the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.

5. Now add the hot water and mix the batter until it is smooth. 6.  Pour the batter into a greased 10 cup bundt pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 40 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.

7. Allow to cool for 10 to 20 minutes and then remove the cake from the pan onto a wire rack. Allow the cake to cool completely before icing.
