For the frozen cubes
- 3 large lemons peeled
- 1 cup roughly chopped peeled ginger (approx. 140 grams)
- ½ cup roughly chopped turmeric (approx. 60 grams)
For the Drink
- 2 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
- ¾ cup boiling water
Peel three lemons. Use a spoon to scrape the skin off the ginger. For the turmeric, either peel it or simply wash it well (I prefer to leave the peel on and blend it).
Add the lemons, ginger, and turmeric to a blender with ¼ cup of water. Blend until smooth.
Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing firmly on the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible.
Transfer the strained liquid to an ice cube tray and freeze.
To serve warm: Take two ice cubes, add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup, and pour ½–¾ cup of boiling water over them. Stir well and enjoy!
To serve cold: Pour cold water or orange juice over the ice cubes and let them melt before drinking. Stir well and enjoy!
Juicer method (alternative): If using a juicer, simply run the lemons, ginger, and turmeric through it—no water needed.
