Ingredients

For the frozen cubes

  • 3 large lemons peeled
  • 1 cup roughly chopped peeled ginger (approx. 140 grams)
  • ½ cup roughly chopped turmeric (approx. 60 grams)

For the Drink

  • 2 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
  • ¾ cup boiling water

Instructions

  • Peel three lemons. Use a spoon to scrape the skin off the ginger. For the turmeric, either peel it or simply wash it well (I prefer to leave the peel on and blend it).
  • Add the lemons, ginger, and turmeric to a blender with ¼ cup of water. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing firmly on the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible.
  • Transfer the strained liquid to an ice cube tray and freeze.
  • To serve warm: Take two ice cubes, add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup, and pour ½–¾ cup of boiling water over them. Stir well and enjoy!
  • To serve cold: Pour cold water or orange juice over the ice cubes and let them melt before drinking. Stir well and enjoy!
  • Juicer method (alternative): If using a juicer, simply run the lemons, ginger, and turmeric through it—no water needed.
