Banana Date  Oatmeal 

Life Around the Table

Start your day off well with a comforting bowl of my warm, nutritious Banana Date Oatmeal. The cooked oatmeal mixture is naturally sweetened with bananas and dates and can be topped with a variety of delicious toppings.

Simple Ingredients

– large flake oats – water – half overripe banana  – Medjool dates  – pure vanilla extract – cinnamon – sea salt 

Step 1: Combine the oats, water, chopped dates, mashed banana, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in a medium saucepan.

Step 2: Over high heat, bring these ingredients to a boil. Immediately lower the heat to low. Simmer for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until most of the water has been absorbed and the oats are tender.

Step 3: Transfer cooked oatmeal to a bowl and add your favourite toppings and enjoy!
