72 Refined Sugar Free Desserts (Naturally Sweetened)

Here you’ll find a collection of naturally sweetened desserts. These treats are sweetened with natural sweeteners such as honey, coconut sugar, maple syrup, dates, apricots, persimmon, banana and applesauce. They are refined sugar free and still incredibly delicious!

Naturally Sweetened Desserts

I prefer to bake with natural sweeteners such as coconut sugar or maple syrup for a few reasons. The first reason is that natural sweeteners contain minerals and nutrients which help with digestion of the sugar whereas white refined sugar is totally devoid of nutrients. Therefore white sugar strips the body of nutrients just for its own assimilation.

The second reason is you can’t beat the flavour that that natural sweeteners such as honey lend to baked goods. I’m an even bigger fan of desserts that are naturally sweetened with fruit such as bananas, dates or applesauce. Because of the fibre in the fruit the natural sugars will not be digested so quickly. This helps to keep your blood sugar levels steady.
